World's Thinnest (Thin as AAA battery) laptop HP spectre 13 goes hunting MacBook!

This is HP's newest laptop Spectre 13 and it's trying to give the macbook a run for its money. The spectre 13 is supposed to be the thinnest laptop ever made at 10.4mm or about the same thickness of a AAA battery thick that's thinner than the MacBook thinner than Dell's XPS 13 and just those few millimeters difference really show it really stands out with it's siting on a table and feel super light carrying its just under 2.5 pounds. HP also added in a luxurious touch with hand-polished copper accents along the body.

Even though this is thinner than a Macbook it's actually a lot more powerful that's because it has a core i series processor which we usually find in ultrabook or MacBook pro rather than a core M processor which is what usually find any super-thin laptops. Under the hood you’ll find either an Intel Skylake Core i5-6200U or Core i7-6500U processor paired with 8GB of RAM (non-upgradeable). Cooling a device this thin with a Core i7 is a challenge, which is why HP’s development team uses two fans that pull air into what the company calls a barometric chamber. The fans increase the pressure within the chamber and then exhaust hot air out the back of the notebook. Hp says it is a lot of Engineering to get a core i in just a small machine that includes game heat dispersion just right so that laptop doesn't get too hot and making sure that its battery can last.

Graphics duties are handled by Intel HD Graphics 520 and you’ll find a 256GB NVMe M.2 SSD onboard. The aforementioned 13.3-inch edge-to-edge display features a FHD resolution and is covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It's supposed to go for 9.5 hours.

There are some tradeoffs of this size. It doesn't have a touchscreen and the display is only 1080p, but it looks pretty good. This is HP's new vision for breaking into the premium laptops based, the same area that you'd find a MacBook, MacBook Air and Dell's XPS 13. It means having a really eye-catching laptop that works really well too and at least at first glance the spectre 13 seems to meet those requirements. when you see it seeing around a table it's definitely catch your attention because it's so thin.

There's this really stylish dark aluminum finish on the top and HP has even made a new logo for itself. It has the sharp angular letters. It looks pretty cool. HP will start taking orders of the spectre 13 this month starting around $1200 with shipping starting next month.

So, has HP created a product that will make even ardent Apple fans envious? We can’t say for sure until we get the notebook into our labs to run the usual battery of tests, but given our initial hands-on time with the Spectre, it looks as though HP has a winner on its hands. This machine is thin, light, and attractive, and has a premium look and feel that is difficult to attain. Comment below, Share post if you like and Stay Tunnes!
